Avoid sun exposure for 4–6 weeks before and after treatment, or until your healthcare provider allows it. If you have been treated within 2 weeks of active tanning (natural sunlight or tanning beds), you may develop hypopigmentation (white spots) that can last for 2–3 months or longer. The use of self-tanning products must be discontinued at least one week prior to treatment, and any residual self-tanner should be fully removed before your appointment. You may be asked to stop certain topical medications or skincare products 3–5 days prior to treatment. If you have a history of perioral or genital herpes simplex virus, your provider may recommend prophylactic antiviral therapy, and you should follow the directions for your prescribed medication.

After your Skin Rejuvenation Treatment, it is normal to experience redness and mild swelling in the treated area. This may last up to 2 hours or longer, and redness can persist for 2–3 days. The treated skin may feel similar to a mild sunburn for several hours. An optional cooling method may be used after treatment for comfort, and a soothing topical product such as aloe vera gel may be applied if desired. Makeup may be worn immediately as long as the skin is not irritated. Avoid sun exposure to reduce the risk of hyperpigmentation and always use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) throughout your treatment series. Do not pick or scratch the treated area. There are no restrictions on bathing, but treat the skin gently, as you would sunburned skin, for the first 24 hours.
