Discontinue the use of retinoids, prescription retinoids, exfoliating acids, and any harsh skincare products for several days leading up to your treatment. After your dermaplaning treatment, it is important to care for your skin gently to protect your results and support proper healing. Use a gentle cleanser twice daily and apply a hydrating moisturizer at least twice daily for a minimum of 7 days. Avoid products containing exfoliating agents such as retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, toners, astringents, or any harsh active ingredients or physical exfoliants for at least 72 hours. Avoid sun exposure for at least 72 hours, as your skin will be more sensitive to the sun; apply sunscreen daily, wear a hat, and seek shade when outdoors. Avoid excessive heat and sweating, including steam rooms, saunas, and intense workouts, for at least 72 hours, and avoid chlorine for 24 hours. Refrain from facial waxing for one week post-treatment and avoid dermal fillers or injections (such as Botox or Dysport) for 2–4 weeks. You may notice a slight windburn sensation or mild blotchiness in the first few days, and some skincare products may tingle or lightly burn due to increased product absorption.
